Back again this week for another list of things I am currently loving and hating.

LOVE

Opa Opa Raspberry Wheat
Tried this stuff for the first time a few weeks back. I was pleasantly surprised. I do like a lot of fruit beers like Sea Dog Blueberry and Leinenkugel’s Berry Weiss. I find with those a lot of the time the fruit taste is over powering and you can only have one or two. With the Raspberry Wheat from Opa Opa the flavor was not too strong but still good enough where you knew what you were drinking, but it wasn’t over powering. It was so good I drank the whole growler. Whoops.

MarioKart Wii
Went to a friends house this weekend for dinner, and their 3 year old son was begging me all night to play Wii with him. We started playing MarioKart and I immediately felt like I was 12, and playing a SNES again. I am now looking to buy a Wii just for this game and the new Super Mario Bros.

Queens of the Stone Age
These guys just re-released their debut self titled album from 1998. I am going to see these guys in Boston on Saturday night and started listening to this album again. Forgot how good it was for a while. Love the songs Regular John, If Only, Mexicola, and Avon. I am expecting them to rock those along with some other QOTSA classics Saturday night. Really looking forward to this show.

Dancing With the Stars
I’ll be the first to admit, my selection in TV shows is awful. I was interested in the season of DWTS because I used to love wrestling and wanted to see how Chris Jericho did. I also enjoy Kendra and wanted to see her, and was totally expecting to see Kirstie Alley fall flat on her fat face. As I was watching it I was getting sucked in and making comments about each persons routine. I am hooked on this season. I even woke up the next morning and said to my wife, “Kirstie Alley was actually pretty good.” Don’t get me wrong, I still love watching sports. I do not know why I am on this run of watching terrible TV shows.

Milan Lucic
The big man scored his 30th goal of the season Tuesday night against New Jersey. Lucic is the Bruins’ first 30-goal scorer since Phil Kessel scored 36 in 2008-09. Hopefully he can keep it going for a strong playoff run. The B’s have a big game tonight against the Canadians, which should be a good game since they have been awful against Montreal all season. Plus this is the first time the two teams have met since the Chara/Pacioretty hit. Can’t wait to watch this game!

HATE

Xbox Red Ring of Death
Sunday after noon I headed out of the house did some errands and treated myself to MLB 2k11 for Xbox. Played one game on it then decided to do some stuff around the house. Later on in the day decided to fire up the Xbox again and low and behold – the god damn Red Ring of Death. My heart dropped. I was so bummed out (yes, I am aware it’s just a video game system). Tried a few tricks to get it going again that were suggested to me by a friend, and it would be good for a bit and then those damn red lights would be back. I have one more trick I may try before I head off to buy a new Xbox. At least the new ones are slim and sexy (like myself). I don’t even know if my broken one is under warranty or not with them being so cheap now it seems worth it more to go buy a new one than wait a month to get it back from Microsoft.

Gamestop
So when I got the Xbox working for a brief moment a light bulb went off. Trade in my semi fixed system for credit towards the new system. So I got on the horn with Gamestop, they were willing to give me a whopping $50. Are you kidding me? I understand that they need to make a profit and all that, but really you’re only going to offer me $50 in store credit for my system. If I get this thing working again you can bet it will be up on eBay instead of on the shelf of the local Gamestop.

Not too much to hate on this week, all of my hatred has been taken up by this Xbox fiasco. I’ll have more next week, thanks for reading!

I been thinking a lot lately about what to blog about to make this thing more active. The other day my friend, Kate, posted a blog. I loved the idea of the blog she wrote, so what did I do? Naturally, I stole the idea! I put my own twists and such on it though.

Basically she wrote things she was living for lately. I am going to do the same thing only do it as Love/Hate and write a little paragraph about it. I was going to do 5 things of each but, not sure I could come up with 5 things each week. I was able to come up with 5 for both this week however.

Let’s kick this mammer jammer off with first, 5 things I am loving (in no particular order);

5.) Vintage wrestling t shirts
Scored a couple of sweet old school wrestling shirts within the past the weeks off of Amazon and eBay.
The first one is actually a little offensive and didn’t even realize it when I first made the purchase. It shows Big Boss Man and Akeem the African Dream on it with the words “Never Forget” under them. It didn’t even click to me that they were called the “Twin Towers.” Get it? Twin Towers, never forget. Oh well, most people don’t even get it until I explain it to them.

The second shirt I have had my eye on for a few months now. Most everyone out there knows I love Ric Flair. This was a shirt with a classic picture of Flair (circa 1981) with the words, “To be the man, you have to beat the man” written out in Spanish. This shirt was a little pricey, but for once I do not have buyers remorse.

While I was on the hunt for these, I also noticed a lot of old vintage wrestling shirts from WWF and WCW are getting a lot of money. Makes me wish I still had my Razor Ramon t-shirt from 1993.

4.) College Basketball
I am not a huge college basketball fan in general, until March rolls around. Then I get caught up in brackets and the tournament just like everyone else. I don’t have a team I follow, but I do love seeing UCONN, UCLA, and UNC lose. For whatever reason I just don’t like those teams. This year I have Notre Dame and Ohio State in the finals with Ohio State winning.

3.) Baseball
It’s light out later, it’s getting warmer. That means spring is right around the corner, and so is baseball! I actually enjoy watching spring training games, but I am ready for the real thing to get going. Especially with all the moves the Sox made this off season. Along with guys like Beckett, Youk, & Pedroia all being healthy. I am also going to say this – JD Drew is in a contract year, and I expect him to do big things. I love being at Fenway and can not wait to get in there for my first game in May, and have an over priced watered down beer and a sausage!

2.)Trash TV
LatelyI have been catching myself getting caught up in awful crap TV. Shows like Jersey Shore, Teen Mom 2, Kardashians, Ruby, ect. All of these shows are extremely terrible and I am aware of this. I can’t even blame the wife on some of them because I will catch myself saying to her “Oh, Teen Mom is on tonight.” I hate how awful and addicting these shows are but, like a car accident on the side of the road I can not look away. For the record, I am not proud of this.

1.)Corned Beef
With St. Patty’s day this week I can not deny my love for a good old fashioned boiled dinner. I love everything about being Irish (potatoes, drinking, the food, ect.) corned beef and cabbage is my favorite thing about the holiday. I also still state that even the slimmed down version of me could eat a whole corned beef by myself. Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone!

Now it’s time to turn the table and talk about things I hate at the moment.

Here’s 5 things (again in no particular order) I hate, at the moment;

5.)Gas Prices
I am sure you all feel my pain on this one. It seems like every day I drive by a gas station the price has gone up since the previous day. I could go off in a whole political rant about this subject but, does any one really want to read about all that? I didn’t think so. I actually downloaded an iPhone app called GasBuddy which funds the cheapest gas in your area, and is pretty accurate. I strongly suggest snagging it – it’s FREE. Hopefully, things get back to normal soon, and by normal I mean closer to $3 a gallon.

4.) Kim Kardashian’s New Song
Do I really even have to write a paragraph about this? Yes, I admitted to watching her on TV. The fact that someone actually thought that this song sounded good should seriously have their ears checked. I think she should stick to making sex tapes. I was going to post a video for it on this blog, but I really don’t want to litter my blog with that shit. So if you want to hear it go to YouTube.

3.) The NFL and NFLPA
This is one subject that I could write a whole separate blog on. I am going to do a cliff notes version here. The millionaires vs. the billionaires is what it comes down to. I don’t actually have an opinion as to which side is right as far as revenue sharing goes. I do think there should be a rookie salary cap and I would love to see the season go to 17 or 18 games. I hate the fact that they did not come to an agreement this past Friday even though I think we all saw this coming. Hopefully around the draft the two sides get back together and they come up with an agreement so we don’t miss out on a season of football. I don’t know if my heart could take it.

2.) Facebook Whiners
With everything going on in Japan and in other places of the world, it blows my mind that people still find petty little bullshit to complain about on Facebook. I realize these people just need attention and love to have people feel sorry for them, but some people need to relax and realize life could always be worse. The other thing that blows me away is the enablers who pretend to care about the persons issues. If you really cared wouldn’t you call or text that person?

1.) Head Colds
Last on my list is something I have been dealing with for the last week or so. An awful head cold. I feel as though head colds are more annoying than anything. I would actually prefer to be full blown sick than have a stupid little head cold that won’t go away. At least with being full blown sick you can lay in bed all day and don’t have to do much. If you have just a head cold you’re still able to do just about everything the only difference is you’re so stuffed up you can’t taste your food, or have no appetitte. Hopefully this head cold leaves soon!

Alright there it is, my first Love/Hate Blog, I hope I can keep this going to be a weekly thing. We will see how lazy I get. Feel free to post what you Love/Hate or any comments below.

Found this article and thought it was really good. I have an iPhone 3gs now and I hate the amount of dropped calls and lack of working ability when I am in large areas. This article has totally converted me to jump ship to Verizon when my contract is up, if not sooner.
